weeee........... yippee...........
the NCC observational ceremony was quite a success, i think. 30th july. friday. li min said she saw me because we were having our rehearsal on the thursday. on the day of the ceremony we had to wear our no. 3 uniform to school, which makes some of my boarding school seniors looked puzzled of why i'm wearing a uniform instead of home clothes(it's youth day, so we're allowed to wear home clothes, remember?). then at last while i was walking up the slope to school Seoh Ying asked me why i am wearing the uniform.
after entering the school compound i quickly wore my beret, then ran all the way straight to the canteen. part Cs, part Bs, and my part were already at the parade square and had fall in already. i got so scared. i went to sergeant to tell her i'm here already, and of course she didn't scold me la... coz i already told ma'am that i will be late. why? first, i live in bukit timah, right? then coming all te way to crescent needs at least 30 minutes. i can leave earlier, but breakfast is always served at 6am only! so the bus will only come at 6.15 like that, and then the earliest i can reach there is 6.45, which is far over from the falling in time 6.40.
after i greet sergeant already, i quickly put my things in the canteen, then wore my beret, then rush to my platoon and fall in. i was one who stood at the front, and directly behind sergeant you-know-who. she is so tall, and lucky 3/4 of her was blocking me only, if not i cannot see master sergeant commanding already. we then had a full rehearsal with the national anthem, but excluding the speech. ok, then we were ready. we didn't move anymore, just stood there and waited for the rest of the school to come down. soon the music was played and all the pupils started coming down. then everything was usual: everyone sat down, chair-persons took attendance, announcements made by the councillor and then the school stand up. that is where everything is beginning.
"Baris Sedia!"-------bang(our boots la)
"Check, up"------ for the NCOs ICs to salute
-national anthem-
"Check down"
councillor: the national pledge
"Check up"------ for us to put right fist over the heart
-national pledge-
"Check down"
"Baris Senang diri!"------ bang
then Mr Gary Tan came up and made the NCC day speech
"From Dr Arthur Beng, Chairman NCC council...."
"NCC contingent watch your front NCC contingent Sedia!"
-Sergeant Major marches up to the platform-
"NCC contingent tahat sedia!"
"Check up"
"We, the members of the National Cadet Corps..."------ the NCC pledge
"NCC contingent sedia!"
"Check down"
" NCC contingent keluar baris!"
turn 2,3,4 2,3,4 up 2,3,4 2,3,4 left right left... NC! ( i don't know how to spell the word erm... LURP or whatever it is. all i have to say is we don't pronouce left as 'l-e-f-t'.)
-the school cheers and claps-
we ran to the service road.
there sergeant and staff and the other NCOs took pictures of us and they themsleves too. then from there they also have out the donation cans for the yellow ribbon project, which we need to carry it around and ask other pupils to donate.
back to the class we go. =)
